So on a recent thrift trip I veered away from primarily looking at summer dresses towards looking at sweaters for fall.
This white with black stripped sweater is thin enough to be a great transition piece from summer to fall. It was only $4.49.
This lovely grey sweater is part lambs wool and cashmere and is as soft as butter. It was only $4.49 too. Great deal and a great neutral piece.
This red v-neck is also very soft and thin knit for transitioning into the cooler weather. It was only $3.99. Why so inexpensive, I don’t know, but who am I to complain.
Do you use sweaters as a transition pieces into fall and winter. Cheers, Michele
Recently I thrifted this fabric thrift haul when it was 50% off day at Salvation Army. Each piece was originally $1.99 but I got them for $0.99 each. I haven’t decided to do with the pieces, but I do love each and every one. Unfortunately most of them are too small to make a dress, so I might make a skirt, a top or a tablecloth out of the pieces of fabric.
This is a stiffer printed cotton fabric which might be perfect for a tablecloth or napkins.
These pieces are very light weight cotton blends which are perfect for cool summer tops.
These fabric pieces may appear in a future refashioning and up cycling post so keep your eyes peeled. Cheers, Michele
I have not had a coupon for a while, so these prices are all as originally priced, but I am still quite happy with my finds. This is a collective haul from three separate trips to Value Village and wouldn’t you know it…it’s all dresses!
This green Cynthia Rowley dress was marked only $7.99. What a steal!! The sleeves have slits in them and I think I can wear it in the fall or winter with boots.
At only $10.49 this dress is a little more pricy than I usually spend on a dress full price, but I love the lilac purple colour. It has pockets, yeah!
This printed black and white dress was $9.99. I have already worn it only to discover that it needs to be taken in.
This green Talbots dress was only $8.99. It needs to be taken in a bit as it is huge on me, but I like the colour and the cut of the dress.
This black and white dress was $9.99 but is huge and me and I am going to slim down the skirt as well. I like the top part and the fact that the skirt has pockets, the holy grail for dresses and skirts. It will be featured in a future refashioning post.
This white dress was $9.99. It has a tie on the back that I will probably remove and take the dress in.
This last dress was in the ethnic clothing section for some reason. It was marked at only $7.99. It is far too big and shapeless on me, but I like the style of the neck and the print and colours so I am going to see if I can work with it and make something that I can wear. What do you think of my beautiful new dresses? Cheers and happy thrifting, Michele
On National Thrift Shop Day, I thrifted these striped clothing items for 50% off at Value Village. Two of them were from the same designer label. That was a little weird, and the pricing was very low considering the quality of this brand.
This Ralph Lauren dress was originally $7.99 but I got it for $4.00. Crazy pricing sometimes works in your favour. I can wear this in the summer with some flats or in the fall with tights and some boots. A perfect dress…if only it had pockets!
This Ralph Lauren top was originally $5.99 but I got it for $3.00.
This coral top with black and white stripes was also $3.00 after the discount. I love the colour contrast and it will go perfect with shorts or a skirt now and into the fall. It is by Lord and Taylor which is also a good quality brand.
Not bad for quality items, and I do love me some stripes. What do you think of this little striped thrift haul? Cheers, Michele
I do love animal prints so I was pleasantly surprised that in one thrift shop visit I found these four pieces all. I still don’t have any coupons so the items were full price, but still good deals. Let the wildness begin!
This Gap dress in chartreuse and grey animal print is awesome and it has pockets. It was only $9.99.
This Jones of New York top in black and white leopard print was only $4.99.
This black and white leopard print top is a great summer piece with shorts or a skirt for only $3.99.
And this chartreuse and grey cashmere sweater needs a little TLC because it is a little shrunk, but a quick soak in cool water and a little stretching and laying it out on a drying rack will solve that problem. And I love the bird on the front so it still qualifies as an animal print at only $4.99.
So what do you think of my wild animal print finds? Cheers, Michele

I picked up a few more vintage travel scarves and some fabric for making a table cloth and some napkins at a recent 30% off day at Value Village.
This vintage scarf is obviously from Paris, but unfortunately the colours do not match my other travel scarf from Paris so I can’t make a top of the two of them together…I will have to keep looking for their matches. Only $3.50.
This Swiss travel scarf has beautiful bright colours and needs only a plain backing to make a top…I will just have to keep hunting. It was $1.80.
This maple leaf fabric…about 3 metres…is perfect for a future sewing project to make a table cloth and some napkins for Canada Day next year. Not bad for only $2.40. So that’s my mini thrifted haul of scarves and fabric. Cheers, Michele
This was just one thrift store visit and I got a complete thrifted outfit with clothes and accessories for about $20. Not bad in my books.
This necklace is just my style and was only $3.99.
This sheer top will need to be worn with a camisole, but I love the vibrant orange colour and at only $4.99 it was a steal.
This eyelet white skirt is a perfect summer piece for only $4.99 it is a bargain too.
These shoes a little worn but still in great shape and at only $5.99 they complete the outfit perfectly.
So what do you think of my completely thrifted outfit? Not bad for around $20.00.
