Here is another dress that came with me for my anniversary trip to Jamaica in January. I got it for $7.99 at Value Village. I don’t usually wear strapless dresses, but I thought, what the hell, it’s Jamaica after all and I need to let loose once and a while.
The elastic at the top and the waist is just a bit too big, so I measured a piece of elastic for the top, pinned it in place in several places and then stretched the top to fit the elastic.
Then to tackle the waist. Luckily the elastic is in a tube, so it was just a matter of cutting a small slit in the tube, pulling out the elastic, cutting it and sewing it smaller and then hand stitching closed the slit.
I didn’t know if the over skirt midi length worked, what do you think, should I keep it as is, or shorten it?
Now it is a pretty white strapless dress, to wear with a chunky necklace. for those lazy evenings on the terrace with my hubby sipping Jamaican Rum Cream on ice, a truly decadent drink. What do you think of this refashion? Cheers, Michele
